Sue trained as a Chartered Accountant at Peat Marwick Mitchell, now KPMG, qualifying in 1986. Later that year she moved to their Glasgow office where she specialised in tax. She qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser and became a senior tax manager in 1990.
After two years as a self-employed consultant and tax lecturer while her children were young, Sue joined Macmillan & Co, a small firm which merged with Campbell Dallas in 2005, leaving there in July 2007 to assist Cook & Co Limited’s tax consultancy section.
Sue has a wide breadth of expertise in all taxes but has specialised recently in corporation tax for owner-managed businesses, together with the personal tax issues for proprietors. This involves management of routine compliance matters for the firm’s clients, together with planning for one-off transactions. She has also developed a broad knowledge of VAT, particularly with regard to property transactions.
